6.  Clinical Services vs. Non-Clinical Membership & Community Spaces

IMPORTANT LEGAL DISTINCTION: This section defines the nature of our services. Please read it carefully before participating in any program or community space.

A.  Clinical Services (Licensed Therapy)

Where we provide therapy services through licensed clinical professionals:

• Your information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and applicable state law;

• A formal, confidential therapist-client relationship is established;

• Additional privacy notices, intake forms, and informed consent documents will govern that relationship;

• Information shared in the clinical context constitutes Protected Health Information (PHI) and is handled accordingly.

B.  Non-Clinical Services: Membership, Courses & the Healing Circle

THE HEALING CIRCLE IS NOT A CLINICAL SERVICE. Participants in the Healing Circle, membership programs, online courses, and community spaces are MEMBERS—not clients, not patients, and not participants in a therapist-client relationship of any kind.

The Healing Circle and all related programs are expressly designed as:

• Educational and informational in nature;

• Personal development and self-growth focused;

• Community-based peer support spaces.

As a direct consequence of this non-clinical character:

• These spaces are not governed by HIPAA;

• Information shared in these spaces does not constitute Protected Health Information (PHI);

• No professional duty of care, duty of confidentiality, or clinical privilege attaches to communications made in these spaces;

• Participation is entirely voluntary and self-directed.

Participation in any non-clinical program does not, under any circumstances, establish or imply a therapist-client, counselor-client, or any other professional clinical relationship between Alternative Healing Life Center and the member.

7.  Community Privacy & Shared Spaces

We are committed to cultivating a respectful and supportive community environment. However, by their nature, community spaces—including group discussions, forums, and live sessions—involve interaction with other members over whom we exercise no control.

By participating in any community space, you expressly acknowledge and agree that:

• Content you share may be visible to other members of that space;

• We cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information disclosed in community interactions;

• You are solely responsible for determining what personal information you choose to disclose.

We encourage all members to share with intention, to protect their own sensitive personal information, and to respect the privacy of fellow members.

8.  Scope and Limitations of the Healing Circle

The Healing Circle is designed to support personal reflection, growth, emotional awareness, and the integration of wellness tools into daily life.

The Healing Circle is expressly not:

• Individual therapy or counseling;

• A crisis intervention service;

• A substitute for licensed professional mental health treatment, medical advice, or clinical care of any kind.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or require clinical support, we strongly encourage you to seek care from a licensed mental health or healthcare provider. In an emergency, please contact 911 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

9.  Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance user experience and collect non-personal usage data. You may configure your browser to decline cookies; however, doing so may affect the availability or functionality of certain features of our platform.

10.  Security

We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Notwithstanding the foregoing, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot warrant the absolute security of information you transmit to us.

11.  Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended solely for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take prompt steps to delete it.
